Why Sustainability Matters in the Digital Space
Most people don’t realize that the internet has a real-world carbon footprint. It was news to us that the web hosting industry’s carbon emissions are now estimated to rival those of the global airline industry. Every time you load a webpage, data is transferred and processed through energy-hungry servers — often powered by fossil fuels. That’s why we knew our online presence had to reflect the same care and responsibility we bring to everything else we do.
Here’s how we (well, our friends at Half Twelve Design) made the website as eco-friendly as possible:

We chose Krystal Hosting, a UK-based provider powered entirely by renewable energy. Their commitment to green energy aligned perfectly with our own goals and gave us confidence that our site would run clean behind the scenes.
Optimization for Efficiency
Large, uncompressed images are a major contributor to digital energy use. When building the site, smart image optimization tools were used to compress the visuals without sacrificing quality — keeping page loads fast and energy use low. This thinking was also applied to the fonts we used. The vast majority of this site’s content utilizes Google Fonts, which are optimized for speed and efficiency.
Built for Speed and Simplicity
Our designers also streamlined functionality to reduce unnecessary plugins, bloat and background processes to make your browsing experience smoother and more sustainable.
