What’s Available?
Here’s a snapshot of what you could qualify for:
Residential
Home Energy Assessment
A low-cost (or free for certain household incomes) 2–3 hour energy audit that identifies where your home is losing energy and what upgrades will help most.
Moderate Income Rebate
Up to $10,000 in grants for eligible homeowners to install heat pumps, heat pump hot water heaters or insulation upgrades.
Home Heating System Rebate
Rebates of up to $2,000 even if you don’t qualify for income-based programs.
Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA)
A federal grant of up to $15,000 to replace oil heating with an energy-efficient heat pump system.
Canada Greener Homes Loan
A 0% interest loan up to $40,000 over 10 years to fund retrofits recommended by your Home Energy Advisor following your Home Energy Assessment.
Commercial
Small Business Energy Solutions
Get rebates and 24-month interest-free financing on eligible energy efficiency upgrades. Financing is available for electric-to-electric upgrades with credit approval from Nova Scotia Power.
Business Energy Rebates
Receive up to 75% off energy-efficient products or 24-month interest-free financing. Ideal for new construction or retrofits needing a heat pump system.

Before you do anything else, book a Home Energy Assessment through Efficiency Nova Scotia. This inspection provides a custom report on your home’s energy performance and directs you to the available programs and rebates. If you qualify for income-based programs, this assessment is completely free.
